We know that parents have certain concerns regarding fraternal life.
That's why we encourage you to get all the information before deciding if Sigma Alpha Epsilon is right for your son. Feel free to browse below and learn more about Greek Life and our fraternity specifically. Hopefully it helps alleviate some worries, and helps you become comfortable with the idea of your son becoming a fraternity man.
We expect academic excellence among our members. We consistently earn higher grades than both the average student and average fraternity man on the University of Minnesota Campus. Your son will be surrounded by peers who care about his success, and will keep his focus on school.
Our chapter at the University of Minnesota requires a 2.50 GPA, and offers over $35,000 in scholarships to our members each year with GPA's in various brackets, beginning at 3.0.
As of March 11th, 2014, Sigma Alpha Epsilon no longer has a pledging process. Instead, nationally we implemented what is known as the True Gentleman Experience. This is designed to keep education throughout all four years.
